My Own Mixes
Over the past six years I have created 28 mixes of Depeche Mode related tracks. I have made them all available below to download for your listening pleasure. They are in date order of release.
Half of the tracks are now available in 192kbps quality mp3 as they were originally only available in 128kbps, as at that time the internet was a much slower place regarding transfer speeds.
Also, with each track I have added a note about my own personal thoughts of each mix I created.
With most mixes I tagged the mix name with 'Renty' - I wish now that I had used the foresight to use 'Myattmode' instead ;-)

01 - Told You So - Renty Tom Tom Mix
Released: June 2000
Length: 6:20
This was my first attempt at remixing any track and if I remember rightly it was a favourite for many years after watching the 'Live In Hamburg Video'.
02 - Ice Machine - Renty EQ'd Version
Released: June 2000
Length: 3:47
Because this was an early Depeche Mode track, I felt it could do with polishing up a little bit to sound a little bit brighter. This track does have a couple of glitches near the start.
03 - If You Want - Renty Retro Mix 2000
Released: July 2000
Length: 6:29
This was a favourite of mine for many years so I felt it was appropriate to remix. This appeared as a 'Special' on the Strange-Love website.
04 - My Secret Garden - Old School Extended Mix
Released: August 2000
Length: 6:11
For many years I used to listen to the live show recorded at Hammersmith in 1982. You can probably now guess how this mix came about!
Released: Semptember 2000
Length: 6:27
This mix started off with the idea of using different drums from different tracks to create like a drum megamix. The idea developed itself to use different official mixes of 'Home' to create this one.
Released: October 2000
Length: 5:23
Probably my worst mix. It starts off using the demo/pre-mix tapes for the 'Music For The Masses Album' before going into the album version. I used a sample from my '101' video of Alan explaing the pads they hit during their live performances.
07 - Puppets - No Strings Attached Mix
Released: November 2000
Length: 5:26
My second to worst mix. I used the starting beat of 'What's Your Name?' slowed down as an intro to this mix. Quite poor really.
08 - Dream On - Renty's January 2001 Mix
Released: January 2001
Length: 2:45
Tasters were released by depechemode.com for the then forthcoming album 'Exciter'. I created this mix from the 30 second taster that was released. I was the first person - official or not - to release a remix from the 'Exciter' era.
09 - Lovetheme - Renty's 1981 Flashback
Released: April 2001
Length: 2:01
The way that 'Lovetheme' sounds created a retro feel style of ambience for me so that is where the idea came from for this mix.
10 - Lovetheme - Renty's Wierdlove Version
Released: June 2001
Length: 2:26
I was being purely experimental with this version with the software I was using.
11 - Dream On/I Feel Loved - Renty's Megamix
Released: July 2001
Length:10:29
During the summer of 2001, samples of 'Dream On' and 'I Feel Loved' were officially released for a competition. Every man and his dog created their own mix! This was how I abused those samples.
12 - Goodnight Lovers - Renty's Distant Vocal Version
Released: January 2002
Length: 3:40
This was my attempt to try and create a karaoke style mix but this was the nearest I could get to it...
13 - Goodnight Lovers - Renty's Almost Accapella Version
Released: January 2002
Length: 3:48
...and this was the nearest I could get to an accapella version!
14 - A Photograph Of You - Renty's Long Exposure Mix
Released: April 2002
Length: 5:04
At that time there appeared to be no remix of this track so I had a go. This was probably the hardest to do to date.
15 - Dream On - Renty's Loved Mix
Released: Created July 2001, Released August 2002
Length: 5:22
This mix was spawned from the megamix I created earlier. I left it for some time before I released it because there were so many 'Dream On' mixes knocking about at that time.
16 - Somebody - Not To Be Taken Seriously Mix
Released: September 2002
Length: 1:17
As the title suggests! I was getting married at the time and I created this as a mickey-take of the day. I released this the day before via the 'Strange-Love Bulletin Board'.
17 - Nothing - Renty's Extended Intro Version
Released: December 2002
Length: 8:28
I fancied the idea of incorporating a studio and live version into the same mix and this is what I came up with.
18 - Bottle Living - Renty's Paper Monsters Extended Taster
Released: April 2003
Length: 5:10
I created this mix before 'Paper Monsters' was released. Dave's voice at the beginning was from a 1990 interview and I incorporated it as so the less knowledgable would know who the track was by.
19 - Enjoy The Silence - Did YOU Enjoy The Silence!
Released: October 2004
Length: 1:18
I simply couldn't resist this mickey take after the samples were officially released!! First appearance on my website.
20 - Flexible - Live In Crossgates, Leeds
Released: March 2005
Length: 3:27
There are quite a few Depeche Mode tracks that have never been played live so I made an attempt for this track to sound like it was live. The location is where I live and the date - 1st April 1990!
21 - Shunt - Renty's Uncoupled Edit
Released: May 2005
Length: 4:25
My first attempt at a 'Recoil' mix. It is also the first time I used my own voice in a mix. I had to hastily create an alternative to this mix as DJ Igbandy was playing it just after the London bombings. The revised mix has the"blood on the line" vocals left out. The mix here is the original one I created.
22 - Precious - Renty's Superioc Intro Version
Released: July 2005
Length: 5:45
'Precious' madeit into the big wide world when the video was leaked onto the internet. I created this mix soon afterwards. Superioc is an anagram of precious.
23 - A Pain That I'm Used To - Renty's Extended Igb Mix
Released: September 2005
Length: 7:16
I received the original album version about six weeks before release. I created this mix for a Depeche Mode night in Crewe to confuse everybody as not many had heard the original. I wonder who the DJ was...?
24 - John The Revelator - Renty's Minimal Club Treasure Mix
Released: October 2005
Length: 3:46
The title says it all. I could hear 'Pleasure, Little Treasure' fitting in with this track.
25 - John The Revelator - Renty's Maximal Club Treasure Mix
Released: November 2005
Length: 3:55
I expanded on the earlier mix by adding keyboards over the top for the first time.
26 - John The Revelator - Renty's Dub Club Mix
Released: November 2005
Length: 3:47
And again, I removed the vocals after a complaint from somebody that he didn't like them! So that is how this dub came about. It is probably one of my favourite mixes.
27 - Boys Say Go! - Renty's Minimalistic Mix!
Released: April 2006
Length: 3:04
A quick and cheeky mix. I created this from the 5.1 DVD that was released of 'Speak And Spell. I ripped the channels and produced this.
28 - Kaleid - Renty's Chilled Out Mix
Released: May 2006
Length: 6:37
I was invited to contribute to an instrumental only bootleg album called 'Grabbing Hands'. I contributed this mix for that album. 95% of this mix was created from the 'World Violation Tour' intro track.
29 - Sometimes - Renty's Purely Experimental Mix
Released: Created May 2000, Released June 2006
Length: 2:10
Back in May 2000 I decided to have an attempt at remixing this track but it proved to be very difficult as there is no set tempo. I have decided to release it now though as it sounds interesting - even in 128kbps quality.
